Information You Provide
Search entries
Search words entered into a third-party search widget can be passed to that provider so it can return results. The provider’s terms and privacy practices control its handling of the query.
Messages
If a visitor sends a message, the service may receive the name, email address, message text, and other information supplied in that message.
Technical Information
Like most web services, the site and its service providers may collect IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, and error or performance data. This information may be recorded through server logs, analytics tools, and similar services.
Cookies
Cookies and comparable technologies may remember settings, measure traffic, limit abuse, support advertising, and help understand page use. Browser controls can limit cookies, although some page features or third-party tools may not work as intended afterward.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to operate the site, respond to messages, improve page performance, understand aggregate traffic, detect misuse, deliver advertising, and comply with legal obligations. Search entries are used by the third-party provider to process the requested search function.
Outside Links
The site links to Sheriff, court, corrections, FOIL, news, app-store, and other external resources. A link does not mean that we control the destination or endorse its content. Review the destination’s own privacy notice before submitting personal information there.
Who May Receive Data
Service providers, search partners, analytics providers, advertising networks, and contractors may process information as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, legal process, or a lawful request from public authorities, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and system security.
Security Practices
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Avoid sending highly sensitive information through an ordinary web message. Use the responsible government office’s official process for records that require identification or legal documentation.
Visitors Under 18
The service is not directed to children under 18 and does not knowingly seek their personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied information may request review or deletion through the contact route.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, a visitor may ask about personal information submitted directly to us, request correction, request deletion where appropriate, or opt out of certain communications. Cookie choices are managed in the browser. Requests involving an outside provider must be sent to that provider.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised when site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version applies when posted. Continuing to use the site after a revision means the visitor accepts the revised notice.
